Mommy Fail #238

My husband got me a hand-stamped necklace that I have been wanting. We actually ordered one for my MIL and when it came, I showed it to him. He got a confused look on his face.

husband: So, how did you get those names on there?
me: I included it with the order...
husband: um, so let's say you order one and....ok, so I got you one.

I laughed and emailed the seller and gave her the info.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, it finally came in the mail.

It was exactly what I wanted, well except for one thing.

I looked closely and noticed the birth date:

10-26-10

Now, that would be great if I had a THREE month old and not a 15 month old. He was born in 2009!

Oops.

Ok, so we all make mistakes.

I on the other hand? I can't just make one.

I made this so long ago and it's been hanging in his room for at least the past six months.

I walk by it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!

Double oops.

I probably would not have noticed it if it were not for the necklace snafu. The saddest part? I checked it over and over for spelling errors. I obviously didn't check it for my own error of stupidity.

Since we are expecting a blizzard, I'll be stuck inside chanting my son's REAL birth date over and over in hopes that I do not accidentally sign him up for Kindergarten a year late or something.

:o) It happens to all of us. Just wait until you have more kiddos. Even more years to get mixed up. I do it all the time. I have to take a minute and think about it.

He is beautiful! I remember when my then husband came home with a birthday cake for my youngest.I always planned the parties so it was a total surprise. The problem ,it was May and my daughter is born in June!! The kids loved the cake though!!

Don't feel too bad, I've done the same thing with my son a few times. He was born in 2002 and many times when filling out paperwork where it asked for his birth date, I would put the wrong year. I even slipped and did that not too long ago, but my son was quick to correct me!

Oh my goodness, this is so funny:) I cannot get Jackson's birthday right either, I have to practice it in my head before I pick up his prescriptions all the time!

LOL! Hilarious! My big date snafu is that anytime anyone asks me for my birthday, I always say 1-10-10 (Lizzy's birthday)...and they look at me like I have lost my mind.

I think we (and our sons) must have been separated at birth. I have done this way more times than I'd like to admit!

I called the pedi's office and left a message the other week - you know how they ask you for your child's DOB? I totally rattled of 05/31/2010. Nope, he was born on 05/30. I am also constantly getting confused and thinking I was pregnant this past fall/winter - instead of the previous fall/winter. Isn't it strange how fast it all goes?
