Late nights

I'm a night person. Mornings=the devil's creation. I have found that late at night, TV is downright weird. You don't have many options. Soft-core porn on Skinamax, or those stupid singles lines. Seriously, if i was a single lady, I wouldn't be calling to find my booty call, i mean date on an infomercial. I'd go to a bar like any normal girl.

Then there is this guy.

Meet John Basedow.

Mr. Fitness Extroirdinare.

The man with the weirdest poses ever to flash across your TV screen.

Yes, you will recoginize this sculpted man on your tv with that catchy song.

Fitness Made Simple....or something like that.
You might not recognize John here in his natural habitat. He poses like his everywhere he goes. I bet this was taken from his family portrait.
I just don't quite get how he can get his body to do that. Maybe i need to participate in his weight loss program to find out. I do need to get in shape. Hmmm. I might just have to check it out.
Just to see if i can stand like that afterwards.
Now, i know you are already excited but i have just learned that he has his own reality show.
You'll get to see wonderful episodes like:
"SCHIPPERKE VICE"
"John Basedow like you've never seen. Action hero John battles the evil forces
Action hero John battles the evil forces of the pizza delivery guy.
Oh, and your welcome for the wonderful find. :)

Holy moly batman, where have you been?

It's been over ten days since I've posted? Wow. I will tell you that the last month has been one of the most insane I've had in a while.
  • My grandmother (who is still battling lung cancer) had a stroke. She is home now and doing well but it was scary. Too scary.
  • Work was so insane for two weeks straight. I should have just spent the night there. It was the worst two weeks ever. I swear my own husband barely knew who i was......and now im playing catch-up. Fun.
  • I got some of my test results back from my allergist and what i got back came back ''normal.'' My thyroid came back fine so that is good. I think I'm going to see a gastro to find out more info.....fun stuff man.
  • My lady part doctor (or as like to call her, the Pikachu doc) ran some blood work in case we want to procreate anytime soon. She tested my roid too and it came out good a 2nd time. I also was tested to check for immunity to measles and chicken pox (because i have never had them, neither has my mom or her sistas) You'll be happy to know that i am immune to them all! Most people think it's totally weird i have never had them but I'm cool with it.
  • I started school on Tuesday. Yep, that summer and fall semester off was awesome, and I'll be honest, i am completely depressed to be back. i just don't have it in me this semester, or maybe i may not ever have it in me to be back. Then, after the past few weeks at work, and how much it sucks right now (because my work has no money--we have to reuse paperclips) I am really glad to be going back.
  • I saw a new back doc (seriously the amount of docs i have seen lately makes me feel like a 96 old woman) He is awesome possum. Luckily, some really nice girls referred me to the office. I went in with no expectations and walked out with two shots in my back. I got back next week for my next round. These were WAY better as in they barely hurt. I would compare this shot as a pin prick compared with the stabbing i got in my neck with the epidural shot. ::shudder::
  • My google reader was and is again out of control. I had to mark ''all as read'' bc i couldn't handle it anymore. I'm talking 1,000+ It really has that plus sign. That is a sign that i have been way to busy. Busy sucks bootie. Oh, and it totally screwed me in watching Nip/Tuck. It wasn't even on.
  • I'm not going to mention the Inauguration but only to say that the Internet sucks sometimes. I couldn't get it anywhere.....booooo.
  • I am starting to really want my wedding album. I fear i may never see it though.......
  • Anyone watch Chelsea Lately? I freggin love that show......funny stuff.

Wow, that was one long update. I hope that you all enjoy your weekend. Too bad its not a long one. :(

Autoimmunity

Remember my bitch session about my allergist? Well, I decided to give him another try since he already knows my history, and he redeemed himself. I saw him (no intern in SIGHT!) on Friday and he really seemed to want to help me, and when he started to get serious, I got a bit freaked out. Since I can remember, I have had allergies but nothing life-threatening or dangerous, more annoying than anything.

That might change and I'll be honest, I'm freaking out a bit.

I have so many issues (don't we all, lol) but out of them all the constant feeling that the energy has been sucked out of my body has to be one of the worst. I am ALWAYS tired. Always. Last time I saw him, he said that if the hives kept coming back, he would give me a blood test to see if we could get to the bottom of it all.

Well, draw blood he did. I swear he took like 6,93939 vials. Ok, I am exaggerating a bit (i think he took like 8-10, but I'm not good at giving blood. I'd love to donate but the two times I've done it, i have managed to pass the heck out.)

He thinks it could be food related, but he also mentioned several times about it being an autoimmune issue. Well, that is kind of what freaked me out. (Of course, after I googled it, lol)

Wikipedia describes an autoimmune disease like this:
Autoimmune diseases arise from an overactive immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. In other words, the body attacks its own cells. This may be restricted to certain organs (e.g. in thyroiditis) or involve a particular tissue in different places.

After my research, things like Lupus, and Celiac Disease kept popping up, along with several other things (thyroid issues, etc) I have had my thyroid function tested in the past from my pcp so i don't think that is it. Of course, I have managed to diagnosis myself with everything else under the sun. Stupid Internet.

I was talking to my mom and she reminded me that my aunt has Lupus and she also has a cousin that has it. My grandmother's sister has Celiac disease. So, there is a family history of both, which also caused me to over diagnosis myself.

Celiac disease is caused from an intolerance to gluten--which is found in wheat, a common ingredient in many of the foods we eat. It is manageable with a gluten-free diet. It would be a huge lifestyle change but definitely do-able!

I won't know anything for about a week or so but until then it's a waiting game. I am trying not to worry myself silly as it could just be something as simple as a food allergy (or nothing at all) but at the same time it will be somewhat of a relief to know why I've been feeling like crud. Hey, knowing my luck, I'll be allergic to wine, chocolate or something i can't live without. :) BUT--it could be a huge jump start to that weight loss.....lol

Odds and Ends

Cute isn't it? Well, guess what? It's more suitable for Piper and Lily than it is for us humans. It's abit pricey for a doggie bed but it sure is adorable. Find it at Overstock here.

Speaking of pets, Piper is finally back to her normal self. She gets spayed on the 29th so lets hope she doesn't go back into heat by then!

Last week, I finsihed up my gazillionth round of Physical therapy. While i think it's helped strenghten, the pain has yet to go away (and it has been worse lately.) I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard after 9 months. I decided that i needed a 2nd opinion and I see a new doc (thanks Mary, Ali and Megan!!!) next week! I'm really hoping for something--an answer to why i am still in pain would be the best! Wish me luck!

I have been searching and searching for a duvet cover that i love, but have had no luck. Then, thanks for Mary and HGTV, I found this.

I don't think i want this specific color, but something similar. I love green. Love green, it's rather an obsession. I have a green coat. Green accessories. Green blankies, and everything else, why not a green room. I love the white with the bold color. I don't think he'll care but I'll have to consult with the mister. :) Add a simple white duvet, and the white furniture. Viola! That is my next project (at least one of them)

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

I'm not one to make New Years resolutions because im not a quitter but lately i have been itching for change. I tried a new razor and ended up cutting my leg. I bought a new kind of tp and swear i got a paper cut on my ass. I tried to stick up for myself at work and got called whiny.
I need a change but I cannot figure out where. Obviously, it's not in the health and beauty section of target.
I need to lose weight but that is an obvious one to me as i sit here struggling to breathe in these pants i swore fit last week. I think my chins have chins.
I need to make more time for friends as i saw some of them for the first time in oh, EONS on NYE. When your friends introduce themselves, I guess that isn't a good thing eh?
Work. Try not to do it. (or find a way where i won't HAVE to do it.-- Lottery? Nah, bad probability. Drugs? Nah, bad consequences like spending my time in close quarters with other scary women who look like scary men might want to be my bff. I'll have to work on that one. Work just gets in the way of my social life (which would help with the last thing....hmmm. i think im onto something.....) I am going to at least try to JUST work while I am at work. :)
I need to take my poor chubby dog on walks more often since i did so yesterday and the sounds coming from her made me look like a doggie beater. (One of our STUPID neighbors thinks it a great idea to let their cat roam around town and when it ran across the street---all three of us quickly became close to getting hit by a car. When lily gets in her hunting dog mode she makes the loudest bay you have ever heard. I think my great-grandpa heard it and he's been dead for 28 years.

So, those are my goals. I guess.

2009.....here i come. Watch out.

Oh the time has come, And you know that you're the only one To say--O.K.

It's really 2009?

I'm a bit behind on this but the last week has been crazy. We had about 25 ppl over for a lovely New Years shindig, and work has me wanting to run away to a beachy lifestyle. I really cannot believe it is 2009. It has been one hell of a ride, and while one of the best days of my life happened it 2008, I can honestly say that I am happy it is over.

There were some rough and not so pleasant times (a nice way to say shitty, lol)

the hives*wedding drama* My brothers car accident(s) *My moms accidents(s)* my car accident.

It's really the latter that has affected me (obviously) the most and truly changed my life as i know it now. It's been a long ride so far and I''m trying to stay positive.

There were fun, exciting, and hysterical times:

Our trip to Tunica (I'm trying to talk mr b into going back this spring) and my first sight of COTTON!
Steph's wedding (and my fall down the aisle)

Our honeymoon. (and the burn to remember) While it was not the hm i envisioned (between the burn and my back--we were a hot mess, lol) it was our honeymoon. I'm hoping for a 2nd hm this May (and im packing SPF 100000)

Summer nights at the B household. Drinks, friends, and Guitar Hero. Could you ask for more?

And the newest addition to the family. Piper. She has turned this dog lover into a pet lover.....and has me wrapped around her little paws.

Then there were the best of times-----which mostly consisted of anything wedding related which by wedding related I mean the actual wedding. :)

And here to 2009: To health, happiness, passion and life.
